Information we handle

Account information includes your name, email, phone number where supplied, password in hashed form, country, city and profile information. If you use Google sign-in, we receive the identity information needed to authenticate you, including your Google identifier and email. We do not receive your Google password.

If you choose to submit identity verification, we handle the document type, identity-document images, selfie and verification status for that review. These documents are not public listing content. Do not send them through the general Contact form.

Trips, parcel requests, bids and bookings can include routes, dates, weights, prices, parcel descriptions, sender and recipient contact details, handover arrangements and status history. Agency services can also involve client, invoice and document records supplied for those services. Contact enquiries include your name, email, message, optional reference and our internal review history.

Why we use information

We use information to operate accounts, display listings, arrange and track bookings, provide support, review safety concerns and manage advertising enquiries. Security and operational records help prevent abuse and diagnose failures.

Where applicable, processing is based on providing requested services, meeting legal obligations, an available lawful basis or your consent. Notification preferences allow you to select from the channels and events enabled in the service. Necessary account-security and service communications are separate from optional marketing.

Public listings and sharing

Trip and agency listings may show profile names, routes, dates, available space, prices, ratings and verification indicators. Do not place private contact details or sensitive documents in public descriptions. Booking participants and the agency involved receive the information needed for the relevant service.

Authorized administrators can access records for support and safety reviews. Hosting, email, authentication and other service providers may process information needed for their function. We may disclose information when legally required. Clicking an advertiser link takes you to another service whose privacy policy applies there.

Cookies, preferences and adverts

Session cookies support sign-in, security and language preferences. Your browser can also store the selected theme locally. Disabling essential cookies may prevent account and form features from working.

Shantaa's advert reporting stores daily aggregate views and clicks. The session is used to reduce repeat counts; visitor identifiers are not stored in the advert reporting table. Advertisers do not receive contact-form messages through these reports. Third-party services such as Google sign-in or external advertiser websites may apply their own cookies and policies.

Storage and security

Records are retained as needed for the service, support, dispute handling, fraud prevention and applicable legal obligations. A deletion request does not necessarily remove records that must lawfully be retained. We assess these requests individually rather than promising an automatic deletion date.

Access controls, hashed passwords and application security measures help protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Service providers may process information outside your country; any such processing remains subject to applicable data-protection requirements.

Your choices and requests

You can update profile details and notification preferences in your account. For access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal or other rights available under applicable law, contact us using the Privacy request topic. We may ask for proportionate proof of identity before releasing or changing private records.

If a concern is not resolved, you may contact the competent data-protection authority. Shantaa is not intended for children under 18 to create accounts or arrange carriage. Please contact us if a child's information has been submitted.

Policy changes

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The date above identifies this version. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate service notice where required.
